Mercury: A Sea-Inspired Oasis in Kish Island

Designers Peyman Kiani Falavarjani and Parisa Biriya Create a Unique Hotel Garden

The inspiration for the Mercury hotel garden came from the vibrant undersea world of corals and fishes, particularly those found in the Persian Gulf surrounding Kish Island. The design aims to evoke the tranquility of the sea within the hotel space. At night, the garden's lighting mimics the bioluminescence of coastal creatures, creating an enchanting atmosphere reminiscent of a beachside stroll.

Mercury stands out for its biomorphic, contemporary, and modern design. Since 2019, the hotel has been a significant construction on Kish Island's coral coast. The entrance area and garden create an emotional connection with visitors through their unique design. The research team used different lighting per side and angles to create contrasts and enhance the garden's appeal.

The design was realized using architectural software such as Revit, Rhino+ Grasshopper, 3D Max, CAD, and Photoshop. The garden, which is part of the hotel's entrance area, spans 1200 square meters. The design not only appeals to the emotions but also serves specific functions in each form sector.

The Mercury hotel garden design faced the challenge of incorporating the local identity into a unique shape. The design successfully combines emotional and functional elements, offering a stunning sea view. The project, which began in 2019, is currently under construction on Kish Island.
